You wouldn’t buy a house without a building inspector! Would you?
You wouldn’t buy someone’s business before having your accountant look at the seller's books! Would you?
Sometimes I wonder how much something has to cost before you really investigate the product you want to buy. I have found that purchasing an aircraft is no different and should always be considered for pre-purchase inspection, regardless of the buyer's selling price. Whether it is $10K for a piece of a partnership on a plane or $100K to buy an aircraft, a good pre-purchase inspection is well worth the investment you are going to make into buying your pride-n-joy.
To have your aircraft inspected for pre-purchase here at the A&P Aviation Services facility, the cost includes a 5-7 hour inspection of all aircraft systems and aircraft records. A flight test and critical altitude check (as required), is performed by one of three test pilots, all of whom have ten of thousands of hours flying. This flight test is by far the best portion of the pre-purchase, and you are actively encouraged (if not advised) to join the test pilot.
If you are unable to get the aircraft to the A&PAS facility, then we can arrange to get the A&PAS Pre-Purchase Inspection to the aircraft. Just ask and A&PAS will accommodate. The goal of the pre-purchase procedure is to make sure the aircraft is represented for sale accurately. The checklist and guide A&PAS uses for the pre-purchase inspection is complete with all manufacturers' recommendations and added notes from the experience and knowledge of the A&PAS staff.
Customer Comments:
- "Adam, It was a pleasure to work with you on the pre-purchase inspection. Your depth of knowledge, instant availability, attention to detail, and effortless communication were especially appreciated. Your personal review of the inspection checklist made negotiating with the seller much easier and allowed me to fully understand the condition of the airplane. Additionally, it was outstanding to see an A&P provide Word documents, a well-prepared and functional web site, and PDF invoices. Best of luck in your future endeavors."
