To have your aircraft rigged here at A&P Aviation Services, the cost includes a 5-7 hour rigging of all flight control systems, landing gear steering system and the flight instrumentation checked in my hangar. An accuracy check of the mechanical engine tachometer is conducted during the flight test, which is performed with one of three test pilots, all of whom have ten of thousands of hours flying aircraft. This flight test is by far the best portion of the rig job, and you are extremely encouraged (if not advised) to join the test pilot.
The goal of the rigging procedure is to have the aircraft fly hands-off, level wings/level yoke, ball centered and making book speed. If your aircraft is unable to make book speed, then a symmetry check will be performed on the aircraft structure to find out why your aircraft performance is not "up to speed".
My rigging schedule will usually book
up two to four weeks in advance.
